As you know, we are all born with our own unique personality traits. It is our personality that determines whether we are happy, shy, formal or carefree. Some are passive or assertive, others are always on time and then there are those who are always running late. It is our personalities that cause us to act or react a certain way. Because of these different types of personalities each of us have certain things that are important to us, or a certain way we like to be spoken to, or certain things we like or dislike. For years there has been studies done by Hippocrates, Carl Jung, Florence Littauer and others.
My favorite book is Success in 10 Steps, by Michael Dlouhy. He groups everyone into four groups based on color. Each color represents a collection of traits, strengths and limitations. He also illustrates how relationships and various personalities impact how we connect with others. This can be extremely helpful in building relationships. The reason Michael Dlouhy is my favorite of the different authors, is not only does his book explain the differences in the four personalities, but he also teaches you how to implement this knowledge to have better relationships with your spouse, children, family, friends and business associates. And he does it all for FREE!
Michael Dlouhy teaches that the four personality types that are identified by the four colors are found in every culture in the world. They identify strengths and weaknesses, actions and reactions. Even though there are variations and exceptions because of cultural biases and other environmental influences we each have our own dominant personality color.
By knowing our personality color, we will better understand ourselves as well as others and learn to deal with challenges in everyday life. When working with other people, as we become skilled in determining their color personality we will be better equipped to build relationships with them. You will find out that people are a mixture of two or more colors, but there is one color or personality type that is dominate and you are driven by that basic personality.
